Luminar 4 is very easy to use but it is fairly slow at loading and rendering images. Not really looking at anything else for now, but of course all advice will be considered and appreciated.

The two in the title interest me, but I'm not sure which would be better for me. Perhaps occasionally I may want to play around with things like HDR, bracketing and some artistic coloring & effects etc. I have no interest in spending hours editing a photo, I just want to do things like sharpen, crop, adjust WB, exposure, color, etc.
LUMINAR 2018 OR TOPAZ STUDIO PRO
I'm getting older and don't have the time nor patience for the learning curves of the popular pro type software. I've never used Light Room, or any Adobe product, but have watched some how-to videos and find them all too daunting. I've tried playing with Gimp and gave up.
LUMINAR 2018 OR TOPAZ STUDIO SOFTWARE
Some of the software I've tried so far is Silkypix, Corel Aftershot Pro 3, and another one I can't remember now. I mostly shoot RAW+JPEG, and a variety of subjects landscape, people, buildings, pretty much anything and everything. Never buy anything with the word “Samsung” on it.Hi, I'm fairly new here at DPR, and photography is a hobby, I don't do it professionally. I’ll also be switching to Apple iPhone in January my Samsung Galaxy 8+ was a lemon from day one. Stick with Win7 as long as you can and when your ‘puter finally falls off its perch, then as you say, go Macbook I’ll be doing likewise (if I don’t fall off mine first). You are wise to avoid Win10, it’s a mongrel of an O/S, actually a failed system. I’ve noticed that you and I are on the same page at many levels (you don’t happen to be a rich widow perchance, do you? ) I don’t mind change, but I’m tired of back to back MS security updates. I avoided Vista and Win8 and they early version of Win10 (spyware).
LUMINAR 2018 OR TOPAZ STUDIO OFFLINE
When it falls off the perch this January, I’m pulling the plug on this machine (use it as an offline storage server) and will prob go I tried CS5 and at the time it was VERY unstable with my operating system so I went back to CS3.
LUMINAR 2018 OR TOPAZ STUDIO UPDATE
I have had it go wonky after a Microsoft update here and there over the years, but I just suffered thru it and eventually it fixed itself. Keep in mind that even though these are one click changes, you still have all kinds of sliders and other tools you can use to manipulate the changes further. I know when they first offered them, you had to pay for them in addition to the subscription prices. Photo Shop is now coming out with PRESETS to keep up with the new 1-click wave of manipulating photos. I feel that this has inspired all kinds of companies to create some outstanding new and amazing products. In my opinion, one the best things that ADOBE did was to make their photo editing software a subscription only product. Now, check out the hair on their manes and their CHIN HAIRS and how well the software did in selecting the two horses! Here is another example using a photo that you have already seen from me: I know they are blurry but can you see how the white clouds in the new backgrounds are coming through the trees? (please keep in mind that the pixel cruncher did its major work on these photos to blur them). The first is the original, the rest are with skies that are provided by the software, EXCEPT FOR THE LAST, THAT ONE IS MY OWN SKY PHOTO. Blue skies are great but I though I could make it more interesting. Here is a photo I took a week ago after the huge snow fall. No more selection brushes, masking out unwanted areas, masking back in branches, hair, etc., this powerful took does it all!

What I am about to show you took all of 2 seconds to transform each photo from a boring background to what you see. I just trying to keep you informed of the wonderful tools that are out there now in the world of photo editing. It is awesome.īut before I begin to demonstrate what it can do, here is my disclaimer. Probably one of the best is the new Sky Replacment Tool. I have been spending the day watching the live webcam to see all the new stuff they have created. Skylum Luminar just released its latest and greatest update (4.0) to the public today.
